I started my 2 Day Fast Today!

Posted by: Jessica Byers  /  Category: BeachBody

I have been having this cold now for almost 2 weeks and it feels like it doesn’t want to go away…one minute my throat hurt and the next i feel fine…what’s up with that?? I almost wished I would just get really sick for a day or so and then it will be over with…oh well….

So I started on my Beachbody 2 Day Fast today…yeahh…I really hope I will be able to make it…lol…I used to fasting back in the day allot so it was a long time ago I did any fasting at all.

I was up pretty late last night, did not go to bed until around 1.30am watching “storm chasers” on tv which was very interesting.

When i went to bed I was already hungry…lol…so when I woke up this morning I was of course still hungry, I just gave the kids breakfast and took them to school.

When I got home around 8.30am I made my 2 Day Fast Vanilla Shake and it was delicious, I put some ice with it and then mixed it in the blender….it was like a smootie. After that I did not feel hungry.

I also made a bottle of water with some sliced lime in it and I made a large cup of hot tea (with splenda but without milk) I drank this till it’s was lunch time and it kept me feeling full. At lunch I had another shake smoothie and then I had another smoothie at dinner time and inbetween I drank my water, tea and i also boiled some water with bouillon in it and it really tasted good.

When the kids had dinner I was very tempted to eat, they had fish and it’s one of my favorite foods, but I managed to not take anything, but after dinner the kids had ice cream and my son Jordan did not finish his ice cream and then i was really bad and took a teaspoon full and ate it….bad girl…..but it was “only” a teaspoon so I hope I did not mess everything up now…..I am very week to ice cream…lol.

It’s around 10.30pm est now and I have not been eating anything for over 24 hours 9oh ok the little icecream i know..lol) and so far I have to say that I feel great, I was a little bit worried that I would get a headache which I did not get any at all

I really hope I will be able to make it through the 2 days..lol….only 24 hours left!

I am a really bad eater and my metabolism is really bad so I need to get into a routine after this Fast to eat regularly, I can very easy go a whole day till dinner time and just drink tea/coffee and then at dinner I am starving and at night I can get hungry which is not good at all and it is because I don’t eat as I should during the day so after this Fast I will commit myself to be better in eating.

My metabolism got all messed up when I was diagnosed with Thyroid back in year 2000 and with BeachBody’s help I will transform myself and get more fit and healthy and lose weight.

I will update tomorrow on how I am feeling with this 2 Day Fast and if I lost any weight so come back and check my progress.

I will also post some info about the products that I am using with Beachbody in another post.

Choose an Autoresponder

Posted by: Jessica Byers  /  Category: Tools & Resources

A few years ago I was looking for a good autoresponder, I tried many, some was free and some cost-Don’t even waste your time on the free one, many of the emails go straight to your spam box.

Through my search for a good autoresponder I signed up on many Network mMarketers newsletters to see what kind of autoresponder they are using. I also wanted to see if their emails went into my spam box or into my inbox, I was VERY surprised to see that many emails from these “Guru” Network Marketers went into my spambox, but about 99% of all emails who was sent from Aweber DID end up in my inbox, so it was a clear choice for me to try Aweber as my autoresponder.

I have been with Aweber for a few years now and their service is outstanding, if you are in the process of getting an autoresponder I can highly recommend Aweber, but of course you should do your own research and go with a company that fits you and your needs.

For under $20/month you can set up unlimited autoresponders, make a newsletter, campaigns, put a sign up form on your website and so much more.

I wish you all the best in your search!

Email Deliverability Tips

Posted by Tom Kulzer (AWeber CEO)

Ensuring requested opt-in email is delivered to subscriber inboxes is an increasingly difficult battle in the age of spam filtering. Open and click thru response rates can be dramatically affected by as much as 20-30% due to incorrect spam filter classification.

Permission

Confirming that the people who ask for your information have actually requested to be on your list is the number one step in the battle for deliverability. You should be using a process called confirmed opt-in or verified opt-in to send a unique link to the attempted subscriber when they request information. Before adding the person to your list they must click that unique link verifying that they are indeed the same person that owns the email address and requested to subscribe.

Subscriber Addresses

When requesting website visitors to opt-in ask for their “real” or “primary” email address instead of a free email address like Yahoo or Hotmail. Free emails tend to be throw away accounts and typically have a shorter lifetime than a primary ISP address.

List Maintenance

Always promptly remove undeliverable addresses that bounce when sending email to them. An address that bounces with a permanent error 2-3 times in a 30 day period should be removed from the list. ISP’s track what percentage of your newsletters bounce and will block them if you attempt to continually deliver messages to closed subscriber mailboxes.

Message Format

Usage of HTML messages to allow for text formatting, multiple columns, images, and brand recognition is growing in popularity and is widely supported by most email client software. Most spam is also HTML formatted and thus differentiating between requested email and spam HTML messages can be difficult. A 2004 study by AWeber .com shows that plain text messages are undeliverable 1.15% of the time and HTML only messages were undeliverable 2.3%. If sending HTML it is important to always send a plain text alternative message, also called text/HTML multi-part mime format.

Content

Many ISP’s filter based on the content that appears within the message text.

Website URL:Research potential newsletter advertisers before allowing them to place ads in your newsletter issues. If they have used their website URL to send spam, just having their URL appear in your newsletter could cause the entire message to be filtered.

    Words/phrases:

Choose your language carefully when crafting messages. Avoid hot button topics often found in spam such as medication, mortgages, making money, and pornography. If you do need to use words that might be filtered, don’t attempt to obfuscate words with extra characters or odd spelling, you’ll just make your messages appear more spam like.

    Images:

Avoid creating messages that are entirely images. Use images sparingly, if at all. Commonly used open rate tracking technology uses images to calculate opens. You may choose to disable open rate tracking to avoid being filtered based on image content.

    Attachments:

With viruses running rampant and spreading thru the usage of malicious email attachments many users are wary of attached documents. It’s often better to link to files via a website URL to reduce recipient fear of attachments and reduce the overall message size.

CAN-SPAM Compliance

The January 2004 Federal CAN-SPAM law introduced a number of rules regarding the delivery of email. It’s important you have your legal counsel review your practices and ensure you are in compliance. The two most important rules include having a valid postal mail address listed in all commercial messages and a working unsubscribe link that is promptly honored to remove the subscriber from future messages.

Reputation

Reputation services are often used by large ISP’s as a way to vet email senders regarding their email practices and policies. Businesses listed with these services are then given less stringent filtering or no filtering at all. Several reputation services are:

Relationships & Whitelisting

Contact with major ISP’s and email providers is essential in letting them know about your requested subscriber email. Many large providers such as AOL and Yahoo have specific whitelisting programs and postmaster website areas to ensure your email is delivered as long as you meet their policies and procedures in handling your opt-in list.

Email deliverability is about ensuring requested opt-in email is delivered to the intended recipient. While no single tip will enable you to get 100% of your email delivered each one utilized as a group can go a long way to reaching that goal.

My BeachBody Story!

Posted by: Jessica Byers  /  Category: BeachBody

Are you like me, tired of being overweight?

Here’s my story:

I have always been a little bit overweight or at least felt overweight even though I was not really that overweight, my normal weight when I feel good about myself I was around 140-150lb. If I go below 140 I almost start to look sick and don’t feel as good.

When I was pregnant with my first son Tristan in 1999 I gained around 33lb, I lost almost all of it except for a couple of pounds within the first 2-3 months after Tristan was born. I thought wow this was a piece of cake to have a baby…lol.

Well, after 3-4 months my body started to change and I started to gain weight, I had no idea why and thought it was just some change my body went through and did not even think about going to the doctor.

When Tristan was about 7 months old we went home to Sweden, when my mom saw me she was chocked, I had gained 60lb within 3 months without doing anything, I did not eat more and I was still nursing so I could not understand why I gained so much weight so quick like that. My mom said to me that she thought I had thyroid. Sure enough I went to the doctor and was very very sick with thyroid that they almost wanted me to go straight to the ER but did let me go home.

The next 3 years feels really blurry because I was so sick and the waiting on testing my medicine doze till we found the right doze took a long long time. Since I did not feel better even though I got the right dosage my Dr. said that my thyroid was so big that I either have to do a surgery or radio active iodine.

I did the radio active iodine and oh boy was that good, I started to feel so much better very quick, got more energy and was not as tired anymore. I did loose a little weight but it was really hard to loose as my metabolism was all messed up.

In 2004 I got pregnant with our 2nd son Jordan. I started to lose weight all of a sudden, 16lb I lost very quick and my Dr. said it was ok since I did eat healthy and since I was over weight it would help me with not gaining so much at the end of my pregnancy, but he kept and eye on me so I did not lose too much. With that pregnancy I first lost the 16lb and then I gained 8lb so I was really happy about that.

In 2006 I got pregnant with our 3rd son Dylan, with this pregnancy I also lost weight, about 12lb but then I gained back 20lb at the end of the pregnancy, which was ok.

I think I have tried everything, weight watchers was ok, I did loose some weight with them and they are a great program, I was just so bored to go to all those meetings every week, I started to go to gyms, Curves, tried diet pills, drinks, shakes you name it.

I know for me to get to a healthy weight is to work out and eat healthy. Well, I am a stay at home mom and have my youngest at home and some of the gyms I went to does not have childcare so that was really hard for me to be able to go there as soon as my husband came home from work, plus I get really really bored with going to the gym. I want to feel happy to go and work out, but every time I was going to the gym I really had to drag myself there.

Then in September of 2008 I found Beachbody and it sounded just like something that would fit me. I have been with them now for about 2 months and so far I really love it.

With Beachbody I have found a new lifestyle where I can do everything from home.

How To Brew Coffee Without A Coffee Machine

Posted by: Jessica Byers  /  Category: Recipes

Ok, so my coffee machine broke…..bummer….so I started to buy coffee at Dunkin Donuts every morning since it’s just around the corner from where I live….plus I LOVE their coffee….

….but I have ALLOT of coffee, 7 (2lb 7oz) containers of coffee at home so why spend $2.10 every morning at Dunkin Donuts when I have coffee at home?!…oh well, I was just to lazy to go and buy a new coffee machine so I just came up with a way on how you can brew coffee without a coffee machine, so if you don’t have a coffee machine, are really desperate for coffee and lazy like me to not go out and buy a new coffee machine…here you go….:-)

Enjoy!
